A gripping and thought-provoking play, shot through with flashes of dry humour, this production showcases the events surrounding the abdication of King Edward V111.

While the splendour of British royalty and the very real threat to the monarchy are on display, at the heart of the matter is a family in crisis. As we see Edward V111 renouncing the throne to marry Wallis Simpson, it is impossible not to be reminded of more recent royal family crises.
